Greenhouse Tattoo
Signage and interior murals for my friends at Greenhouse Tattoo here in Asheville, NC ♥️
When @chuckdtattoos moved into his cozy studio in Montford he invited me to come up with signage and interior mural concepts that would charge up his new dojo. We had both been getting into Bavarian folk art, particularly wall paintings that adorned street corners and doorways that commemorated the owner’s life story in some way.
I gradually ended up designing over 50 glyphs/ symbols/ characters that were painted to fully frame his space. Many were made trying to create a mythology of castles, flowers, crests, animals, daggers, etc that surrounded the shop. Others were references to the many places Chuck has been on his journey in tattoo.
Each piece of this project was a blast and it’s great to see to all of the painted details in harmony at the shop.
